These concertina books on the theme Small/Big were created as part of a Czech Literary Centre project (a section of the Moravian Library in Brno), which is implemented with the financial participation of the EU through the Ministry of Culture within the framework of the National Recovery Plan.
In 2021, the Czech Republic will not present a stand at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The Czech Literary Centre, a section of the Moravian Library, has announced a programme to support the trips of Czech literary agents and publishers to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

On Monday 1 April 2019, the Bologna Book Fair will officially open. This book fair is unique due to its focus on child readers. As well as the diverse cultural programme and discussions on contemporary matters concerning the production of books for children and young people, the book fair also presents prestigious prizes to leading publishers and illustrators, while increased attention has also been paid to digital media and the development of applications for children (and others) in recent years.The Czech Republic will be represented at the book fair by a national stand operated by the Ministry of Culture. The exhibition will present a number of large and small children’s publishing houses, including Baobab, Host, Petrkov, Mladá fronta and Labyrint. In addition to the output from publishing houses, the stand will also exhibit contemporary book collections, including a representative selection of the best Czech works for children.

This book fair is unique due to its focus on child readers (albeit that people under 18 are paradoxically barred entry). As well as the diverse cultural programme and discussions on contemporary matters concerning the publication of books for children and young people, the book fair also presents prestigious prizes to leading publishers and illustrators, while increased attention has also been paid to digital media and the development of applications for children (and others) in recent years.The Czech Republic will be represented at the book fair by a national stand operated by the Ministry of Culture (22C7). The exhibition will present a number of large and small children’s publishing houses, including Baobab, Host, Petrkov, Mladá fronta and Labyrint. In addition to the output from publishing houses, the stand will also exhibit contemporary book collections, including a representative selection of the best Czech works for children.

This book fair is unique due to its focus on child readers (albeit that people under 18 are paradoxically barred entry). As well as the diverse cultural programme and discussions on contemporary matters concerning the publication of books for children and young people, the book fair also presents prestigious prizes to leading publishers and illustrators, while increased attention has also been paid to digital media and the development of applications for children (and others) in recent years. The attraction at this year’s fair is the opening of the Bologna Digital Media Hall in Hall 32, complete with a wide-ranging programme.The Czech Republic will be represented at the book fair by a national stand operated by the Ministry of Culture (29B34). The exhibition will present a number of large and small children’s publishing houses, including Baobab, Host, Petrkov, Mladá fronta, Labyrint. In addition to the output from publishing houses, the stand will also exhibit contemporary book collections (the Golden Ribbon and the Best Books for Children), which include a representative selection of the best Czech works for children.
