Frankfurt
Book Fair

16-20 October 2024 HALL 4.1 D76

The seventy-sixth edition of the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse), the largest book fair all over the world, will physically take place this year from 16 to 20 October 2024. The Czech Republic will not be absent from the fair.

The Czech national stand includes a presentation of Czech literature and Czech book culture, prepared on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic by the Moravian Library in Brno. It acquaints you with the current form and themes of Czech literature through a selection from current book production that has received awards in literary competitions (for example, Magnesia litera, Zlatá stuha). You can see publications from the Most Beautiful Czech Books collection, which received awards in a competition organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Museum of Czech Literature. The exhibition features new books of contemporary Czech prose, poetry, comics and literature for children and youth, as well as new translations supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and books from Milan Kundera’s Library.
At the same time, the national stand offers the current production of some important Czech publishers. Exhibitors will present specialist and popular science books, scientific monographs, encyclopedias, language publications, textbooks, books on art and architecture, children's literature, fiction, science fiction, fantasy books and poetry.
