The Warsaw Book Fair (Warszawskie Targi Książki) is the largest Polish book festival, this year's event will take place from 9 to 12. September 2021 in the outdoor area in front of the Palace of Culture and Science in the center of Warsaw. The Czech Republic is the main guest this year. In 2020, the fair was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Every year, around a thousand writers, translators, illustrators, journalists and representatives from the publishing industry go to the fair. The Czech Republic will bring to the eleventh year of book fair 10 authors who have been selected by the Dramaturgical Council. As part of the accompanying program, will be presented to Polish readers the other 3 authors.
The Czech Republic´s appearance at the Warsaw Book Fair is being prepared by the Moravian Library on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, which initiated and co-finances the project. The project will also be supported by the Czech Center Warsaw, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Warsaw and the Czech Literary Center.
